Flowers are a breathless way to fit out your table’s centerpiece with, or place in a vase so that the intoxicating perfume can fill with room. They are also fantastical to add some color to your garden and there are some types of flowers that are compatible with vegetable gardens.

To make the most of these flowers you can take ones that are known to look good in the various seasons. This way you can have a garden or even a ground decorate that is filled with the various flowers from spring, summer, fall and even wintertime ground flowers.

The best way to prefer the right types of flowers for a fee garden will be to look at the versatile annuals. These flowers are divided into Leash varieties like sensible annuals, Doubting Thomas Hardy annuals and half doughty annuals. You can also plant biennials and some exotic flowers nitrogen your garden.

The doughty annuals are great plants to have for winter seasonal types of flowers. In this variety you can find flowers like Viola, pansy, foxglove, madwort and others. The sensitive annuals are good when you want a howler of colors during the summer months. These flowers include morning glory, petunias, impatiens, begonias and world amaranth.

You can unify a few alien types of flowers with your usual garden flowers also. Lobster Claws and parrots hooter flowers will look good when they are interracial in with Gladioli and delphiniums. These peak mixes are great to place in corners where you want to have a go of color. To heighten the effect of these types of flowers you can select a vase that will bring out the superb color of these flowers.

We all love how roses look and smell, like different colors of roses and each will represent in different events. These beautiful flowers are known to look great with other types of flowers too. For example you can have baby’s breath, carnations, tulips, and daffodils mixed in with red and white roses. You can even plant low ontogenesis rose bush-league and surround them with a rug of pansies.

As you see the many dissimilar types of flowers that we see in our gardens look beautiful because their many dark glasses seem to run into each other complementing and bringing out the vivid coloring. These are not the only types of flowers that we can have in our homes you can have other types of flowers in our home by choice. Today you will see many unlike types of flowers that can be used.

These types of flowers can be real flowers that have been dried and arranged in dissimilar landscape painting pictures. Silk flowers that have been fertilized with efflorescence of life scents so that they look and smell like the real flowers are also used.

With all of these types of flowers both real and man made you may be at a departure for choice. There is no need to occupy as all of these ground choices are first-class to have in your homes.

Let’s talk a little bit about color. If you own a color wheel you will know that complementary colors are found across from each other on the color wheel. You cannot go wrong if you use those colors and mix them in your work. But what happens if you do not have a color wheel and don’t have the time to search online for palettes to give you an idea? You have to start that project and you have bought beautiful yarn, you have chosen the stitches carefully and have a becoming pattern that you can make without difficulty. But your colors don’t match and the final product is more than disappointing!

You don’t want to work so hard to make something for a loved one that they will wear once and then hide so that they will not have to put it on again. Worst even, you do not want to make something for sale and find out that people hate it because the colors clash and cause them to reject the item instead of being drawn to it by its loveliness.

Some complimentary colors are:

* Red and green

* Red-violet and yellow-green

* Red-orange and blue-green

* Yellow and purple

* Yellow-orange and blue-violet

* Blue and orange

Still, contrast can change a garment into something really special, instead of something that would have an expected color scheme. But if you freely admit that you are not sure how to use color to your advantage when crocheting, I will give you some pointers as to how to best crochet with color. Always keep in mind that when you choose a color or color combination; the effect will either be warm or cold. If you were to use a color wheel you would see that there are only three primary colors, these colors are Red, Blue and Yellow. By mixing them between themselves, you create secondary colors (green, orange and purple), and by combining these in different amounts and adding wither black or white, you get all the other colors. If you keep in mind where a color came from, you will be able to combine it with others of the same family and there will be harmony in your design. For example, many people don’t understand why brown, purple and yellow look good together. Well, I went to Art School for years and can tell you that the reason they “match” is because if you add yellow to purple, you can get a shade of brown, so they are “related” colors with the same color origin and therefore, they harmonize. But instead of giving you a long color theory class, I will share with you some terrific color combinations that will surely make your work stand out and will help to crochet successfully with color.

You put a lot into your beautiful work and it is not fair that it would only have disappointing results. Let’s take yellow, yellow is the color of cheer, of sunshine, it is a color full of enthusiasm, a color that is rich and warm. But you do not want that purse you are making to look like a lemon, you want it more to look like a gorgeous flower in a garden, drawing you to it. With blue you can be bold, bright, arresting. You can be soft, gentle, soothing. . .or you can be cold and chilly. Neutrals go with anything, from punchy colors like orange and mustard, to fresh colors like green. Shades of pink, like fun cotton candy or bubblegum, feminine like a vintage rose or bold like a bright hot pink, this color can make any garment interesting if used in small doses that are combined with neutral colors like natural and ecru. For example, you can make a really pretty handbag that any lover of pink would treasure if you use two shades of pink, one dark and one light as the accent color of the bag and surround it with lots of creme. It would be luscious! If you are a lover of bold colors, you can warm up hot pink with the use of  some pumpkin, lime green and buttery yellow. You can even add a hint of a darker yellow, close to a mustard.

If you are making a tote bag for example for a non-nonsense kind of gal and you have tons of pink thread you want to use, don’t make the pink the main color in your bag, use a yummy chocolate brown or sage green, Then add a lighter green and use two shades of pink, one dark and one light to make the brown pop and look less stern. If you want a bright, almost electric  blue to look “cooler,” just combine it with white. If you want to warm it up, just mix it with a warm yellow, a cheerful orange or a lime green.

By the way, lime green is an interesting shade of green, it can be combined to advantage with blue, yellow, orange, pink or with a darker shade of green. Pale pink can look lovely if you mix it with a dusty green and ecru, and then you add a bit of red for some punch. Hot pink which is very close to fuchsia, is a great way to turn a black and white bag into a gorgeous creation!

Are you looking for a striking combination? Well, take lime green again and pair it up with Victory Red, and add a dash of black. Or take lime green and use with with a dark almost royal blue and then add a bit of cream or ivory to it.

You love purple? It would look pretty with a happy, almost cotton candy pink, together with lime green. Dark purple looks absolutely beautiful paired with cream or with ecru. Ivory and purple is gorgeous as well. Let’s say that you have a lot of either yarn or cotton thread that is in the color shade of emerald green (Myrtle Green, Forest Green, etc.) and you really don’t know what to do with it. Well, that is one of the most versatile shades of greens! You can safely mix it with rose, add a splash of red and you have something going. A rich, deep blue goes well with this shade of green also, and if you want a striking contrast, add cream to that combination of dark green and dark blue.

Surprise with a combination of this stunning shade of green and lemon yellow, if you want to tone it down a bit, add cream. Lilac and a pale pink form a good combination with this dark shade of green as well. Melon goes well with this dark green and it has a warming effect upon it. By the way, peach and melon can liven up a maroon or a brown and make it attractive.

Red, melon and Forest or emerald green can make a lively combination. Almost all greens, most oranges, yellows and blues and any white or off white, as well as cream, natural and ecru work well with red. Of course, black red and white or black, red and linen are a classic.

So you have a lot of Goldenrod or gold yellow and you think you made a mistake in buying it. Well, you can add cream and a splash of brown to it and it will look nice. Or combine it with cream and a lime. Black goes with anything, so does natural and white. Black, red and white is an art deco classic. But have you tried black and white with a deep royal shade of blue? Or black and white with a Kelly green?

How about black, cream and red? How about wine, cream and black (NEVER put the wine and the black together, it would be very somber, but put the wine, then the cream and the black close to the cream and it will look lovely.)

Now black, red and white is one of those color combinations that you can use with Goldenrod and it will have a lovely look, a very sleek almost oriental feel to it. If what you have a lot of is pumpkin or any other bright orange, you can brighten it and at the same time, tone it down by mixing it with white or with cream; you can mix with a royal blue shade or a dark green and add a cream for contrast.

If you want it to bee “young” looking, just mix it up with melon, and peach or a tangerine-like shade of orange. Beading with opaque glass beads in a lighter shade of the same orange can make things look surprisingly beautiful.

If what you have is a ton of Aqua or Turquoise, then you can mix it with a buttery yellow, a warm peach or tangerine, or if you want it to be cool, combine with with cream or with off white. If you are working on a vintage purse pattern, make it black and turquoise for that ’50s look.

Using color in crochet is not mystery, if you don’t have a color wheel on hand, use the color combinations I’ve suggested and you won’t go wrong!

Most people have a set amount of money that they can spend on flowers for a wedding.  Usually the cost of wedding flowers is about 10% of the entire wedding budget.  Of course this number is flexible – you might want to splurge in one area (e.g. your invitations) and tighten the reins in another (e.g. your flowers).  Here are 7 different ways you can lower your flower costs:

 1.  Use less expensive flowers rather than exotic ones.  Chrysanthemums, carnations, alstroemerias, and baby’s breath are beautiful flowers and can make a stunning display.  These flowers cost a lot less than roses and lilies yet can do the same job.

2.  Use exotic blooms very sparingly such as only in your bouquet or your fiance’s boutonniere.

3.  Use flowers that are in season.  They will be less expensive and you have a greater chance of them being fresh.

4.  Avoid getting married around times where flower prices are higher – Mother’s Day, Valentines’s Day, Christmas, and Easter.

5.  Use less expensive look-alikes.  For example, roses tend to be costly, so to cut costs, you can use lisianthus.

6.  Use smaller bouquets and arrangements.  Instead of having 40 roses in your bouquet, cut it down to 25 roses.  If you have your heart set on a certain size, you can then add ivy, berries, herbs, or other affordable flowers to fill up your bouquet.  Your bridesmaids can carry single stems down the aisle.  That can be both dramatic and elegant.  Sometimes less is more.

7.  Use your ceremony flowers at your reception.  Arrange for someone to transport any arrangements that you may have to your reception.  Use your bridesmaid flowers to decorate the cake table and yours to dress up the head table.

 These are just a few ideas for how to trim your wedding flower costs.  Keep them in mind when planning and you will save yourself a significant amount of money.  It is possible to have very beautiful wedding flowers without breaking the bank.

Learning how to make Mexican paper flowers such as those that you see in some of the stores around town or on some of the television shows on the T.V. is not as hard as you might think. Although after I was involved in a devastating car accident a while ago, and had been bed ridden for many months with no transportation, I thought that learning to make these and other paper flowers might be something difficult for me because of no prior interest. I began looking for alternative activities to get involved in (besides watching television!) and I eventually discovered how interesting and gratifying making Mexican paper flowers can be.

Making Mexican paper flowers gave me an outlet of how to express myself through creativity. Not only is it an inexpensive hobby, but it also is very relaxing and when you finally have a finished product it is exceptionally rewarding. I thought that it would only be an activity I would perform during my recuperation period, but I was wrong. Making these Mexican paper flowers has now become one of my favorite pass times.

There are only a few items that are needed to make a Mexican paper flower. Tissue paper or crepe paper, pipe cleaner, twisty wire tie, scissors, ruler, coloring markers, perfume, and an imagination. Most of these items can be found in your kitchen cabinets, tool drawer or at the local store. Then once you have all of the needed items and hardware for making those Mexican paper flowers the fun begins.

Here is your first lesson learning how to make Mexican paper flowers:

1) First, you want to make the leaves, so you cut a pile of 6 to 10 pieces of paper 10 inches wides, and 14-20 inches long.

2) Next, you want to make approximately 1 inch folds in the layers (accordion style).

3) Then you need to tie the middle or the accordion with a twisty wire tie. Then you get to use your creative mind and trim all the edges with your scissors.

4) Then, start at the outside of the flower and start to bend each piece of tissue paper in half (be very gentle with this step).

5) The last step is use the pipe cleaner for the stem of your festive Mexican paper flower and as a special additive you can also spray that Mexican paper flower with perfume to make it perfect.

A situation arose in my own life where friends of my family commented on how original and gorgeous the Mexican flowers I made were. This made me feel extremely good inside. I then began to explain how easy and inexpensive it was to do and the enjoyment I felt while doing it. Later that year, my family and I were at their house and sure enough they had a vase full of Mexican paper flowers displayed in the middle of their dining room table.

Once you actually design and create a Mexican paper flower you will see how much fun and relaxing it is. It can become quite an addiction because you always think of different shapes, colors, or sizes to make the flowers depending on the mood your in that day.

Even if making Mexican paper flowers is not your preferred style, making other types of flower crafts such as paper flowers or origami flowers might be. Discover what countless other people have who have enriched their lives creating beautiful paper flowers either for a living, as a regular hobby or even just as a skill in their arsenal to expand their minds. Don’t delay and get started making beautiful and gratifying paper flowers today!

Northern Cyprus is awash with an unusual array of colourful blooms unique to this area, which adds to the feeling that you really are truly entering paradise every time you step into this perfect part of an all-round perfect meditaraian island.

Such is the abundance and range of flowers and plants indigenousness to Northern Cyprus that a lot of its natural planes and especially in the Troodos mountain range that is the spinal column of the automounus and self-governing Turkish-speaking Northern Cyprus.

Outside of its towns and built-up resort areas, are covered for a good part of the year in a carpet of wild, colourful and beautiful flowers which adds a particular uniquely dramatic tint to the north Cyprus landscape.

Flowers and plants found in Northern Cyprus.

The very agreeable and typically Mediterranean climate, long hot summers short mild winters book ended with brief snatches of autumn and spring, of Northern Cyprus allows the growth of olive trees and in rural areas they flourish wild and in a natural state with the foothills and further up the slopes of the Kyrenia mountains being thick with olive groves, where the altitude provides enough rainfall to nudge the olives to full fruition.

Also flourishing in the lush forest that covers the Kyrenia mountain range are cedars, pine and cypress trees and Cyprus oaks, basically its fair to say what isnt covered in olives will be so in one of these four!!!

The unspoilt beauty of Northern Cyprus.

One of the great beauties of Northern Cyprus, besides its beautifully inclement weather, is that so much, unusually so for a favorite European holiday destination, of it is remarkably unspoilt. Indeed if you were to find yourself walking round much of it hundreds of years ago you’d be surprised at how similar many of the scenes you saw would be to those you’d see today.

This means with nothing but nature to stop them many wild plants and grasses, many native to Northern Cyprus, run riot and give wonderful colours to what can be in places, especially on the lower coastal planes, a somewhat barren and empty landscape.

Though Northern Cyprus isn’t particularly noted as an incubator of natural wildlife, flora and fauna, it does have a fairly remarkable total of 1300 different species including 150 varieties of grass flourish within its 3000 or so square miles of land, which isn’t a bad harvest and bearing in mind also that 19 of these 150 are not only native to the island but also exclusive.

Amongst the flora and fauna found growing wild in Northern Cyprus are:-

Hedysarum Cyprium akaThe Cyprus sweet vetch.

This butterfly shaped pink-flowered member of the pea family is a hardy perennial of the Northern Cyprus landscape, being one of its native fauna and when it is in season in May and June it lights up its entire native landscape, it is found mainly in the hills just south of the Kyrenia mountain range, with their striking pink hue.

Delphinium caseyi aka Caseys larkspur.

Another native plant that gives a vibrant shock, this time violet, to the otherwise barren North Cyprus landscape during the months of May and June, though not much of it as it is found entirely in clusters on a small rocky peak just south-west of St.Hilarion.

Salvia veneris aka kythrean sage.

This plant, very similar to the types used to make sage tea, grows in the crumbling sandstone hills just north of the village of Degirmenlik and has adapted itself successfully to grow on the ground to avoid the ravenous attentions of the local free-roaming goat herds.

This scentless yellow and white flower graces us with its presence only in March and April.

Climate of Northern Cyprus.

Though the Kyrenia Mountains are well watered and lush the vegetation found there and the climate is quite different to the rest of North Cyprus.

In contrast to the thick thriving olive groves and trees found in the forests that envelope the mountain range with a particularly luscious green, the majority of the rest of the North Cypriot landscape is barren and more atypical of what you’d except to find in one of the Meditetarainaen countries.

It is of these climatic conditions, long beating spells of very hot sun leading to almost constant drought caused by almost total lack of rainfall that makes Northern Cyprus such an attractive holiday destination for thousands of sun seekers every year.

TULIPS Bulbs

For a one year show of spring tulips bulbs in a warm climate, Buy the tulips bulbs and chill them for 8 to 10 weeks in a refrigerator before planting. Aim to plant at the coolest time of the year. Tulips like a good manure with a bonemeal base and should be planted 10 to 15cm (4 to 6in) deep in a semi-shady cool position in warmer climates.

TULIPA CLUSIANA:

One of the most graceful of all tulips, this lovely species produce elegant star-like flowers, white inside with a violet base and outer tepals which are carmine on the outside. They grow to about 10in (25cm) tall and require minimal chilling, making them a delightful lasting garden plant, even in milder climates. Occasional more than one flower per stern is produced.

Chosing Tulip Bulbs:

By choosing tulip bulbs from across the groups, you can have a sequence of flowering throughout spring. They range in height from 4in (10cm) to (70cm). The blooms come in many colours, including bronze, black, yellow, white, red, pink, purple, violet, green and blue.

The use of Flower Remedies is not a new phenomenon. The Australian Aboriginals have always used flowers to heal the emotions, as did the Ancient Egyptians. There has also been a very long tradition of use of Flower Essences in India, Asia and South America and they were also very popular in Europe in the Middle Ages. This healing method was rediscovered by Dr. Edward Bach in the 1930’s after he tired of seeing the results of allopathic medicine where patients not only recovered from the disease but also the cure.

Who Was Dr Bach?

Dr. Bach was a renowned physician based in Harley Street who gave up his practice to devote all of his time to the search for a true method of healing. Dr. Bach believed that diseases of the body come about as a result of imbalances or negativity at the level of the soul, and by correcting the problem here would result in the body healing on all levels. The difference, he observed, between his diseased patients and healthy people was ‘vital force’ especially the lack of it in sick people. He set about trying to understand how to put life force back into those diseased people.

Like Paracelsus, he was convinced that disease of the body is due not primarily to physical causes but to disturbing moods or states of mind which interfere with the normal happiness of the person. If this is allowed to continue it leads to a disturbance of the bodily functions that result in ill health. Fundamentally, Bach maintains that it is up to the sick person to change his mind about his own illness but that healthy aesthetic vibrations can help him recover his innate desire to be well. A long bout of worry or fear can according to Bach weaken a person’s ability to resist disease through their lack of vitality – which governs a healthy immune system. “It is not the disease that needs treatment,” Bach said, “There are no diseases only sick people” His views were confirmed in recent years by medical researchers.

His quest brought him to flowers as they are the finest expression of the plant kingdoms life force. Flower essences are made from flowers that are at their peak of bloom and so they are at the pinnacle of the plant’s energetic life cycle as well as biological. For orchids the experience of being in bloom is like an orgasm that goes on non-stop for as long as two months. By capturing the vital force expressed from the flower and putting it into people he could restore their health. All he needed was the medium by which to do so.

His most famous and most popularly used remedy is the Rescue Remedy that contains five flower essences. Rock Rose for alleviating terror and panic, Impatiens to release tension, Star of Bethlehem balances traumatic grief, Clematis grounds the day dreamer and Cherry Plum antidotes impulsivity.

Australian Bush Flower Essences

Australian Bush Flower Essences started within a natural health clinic and became the choice of health practitioners worldwide because of their diverse range and efficacious results within a clinical environment. There are a number of unique points associated with these essences, firstly, Australia being the first continent has some of the oldest species in the world and has the highest number of flowering species – a wonderfully rich biodiversity in natural healing qualities. Secondly, Australian Bush Flower Essences address many contemporary health issues such as communication, learning difficulties, spirituality, radiation, electromagnetic radiation, space clearing and sexuality not addressed elsewhere. The Bush Essences have a reputation world wide for being incredibly quick acting and having a profound healing effect. Australian Bush Flower Essences were the first to introduce combination essences, creams and mists with product names that clearly identify the health issue.. Bush Flower Essences are one of the highest retail growth categories in natural health retailing today.

Choosing an Essence

You could simply read through the information on each of the individual essences and decide which ones are most appropriate. However, this can overwhelm some people and they could feel that they need them all! To drastically narrow down the number of essences that you are considering ask yourself the following questions – what do I most want in my life? or what is the major issue that I am working through at the moment? Then simply choose the appropriate Bush Essences. Alternatively you could look through the Flower Insight Cards and choose those which most appeal to you (limiting them to no more than 3) and also include any card that you have an aversion to. Invariably you will choose Essences that will address your most pertinent issues. These Essences can then be mixed together in a dosage bottle.

Bach compared his remedies to that of beautiful music or arrangements of colour, or any glorious uplifting medium that gives inspiration. His cure was not to attack the disease but to flood the body with beautiful vibrations from wild flowers and herbs in the presence of which “disease would melt away as snow in sunshine.”
